Living Beyond Sunday

It just wasn't what I was expecting and did not meet my needs. I do very much appreciate books on this topic and will continue to look for something that will be better at leading my family deeper into faith and holiness.

I found this book to be too basic for my needs.

It is more simple than I was expecting. I had hoped to glean more from it's pages.

I bought this book for my wife and I right after we got married. We thought it was a quick and easy read and filed away some of the ideas for when we have kids. We bought a few more books to share with our friends who were also newly weds. I would definitely recommend this book as a fun, easy read for families beginning their journey of faith together.

I received this book as a Christmas gift. It is a nice book. It's small, short, not very difficult to read. Nice suggestions, though most seem commonplace/standard. I don't feel that it is something I am going to go back to again or read more than once. I will be donating it to Goodwill or the used book sale at my local library soon so that it may find it's next owner.

This book was o.k. but it really was not what I was expecting or wanting. I wish that I could have borrowed it from the library or on the library app instead of purchasing. I hope more materials on helping people raise kids for holiness will come out soon.

I was excited to find this on the shelf at my local adoration chapel. I started reading it during my weekly holy hours. Sad to say that I won't be finishing this one. I agree with the other reviewers here, the content is just okay. It seemed to stay on the ground level and be mostly very common or standard Catholic traditions, practices.

We read this with a book club and were asked to review online. I did not at all care for the dry writing style. It felt smug and too scholastic. The content was also lacking and stale. Was expecting this to be fun, fresh, and vibrant. It was the opposite. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't read again.

Our book club leader asked us to leave a review of this title online. Personally, I did not find the content very useful. It seemed like common sense. Most of the ideas are things I grew up doing and/or am doing now with my family. I'd say this book was just ok. If you are on square one then it may be much better for you.

I think maybe this title should be promoted for converts or those not very strong in the faith. For a very faithful family of cradle Catholics there is not much of anything of use in this book. It feels like I've wasted my time and money on this one. Ascension always has such wonderful products. I really do think this one should say that it's sort of a "basics for beginners" type of book.

This book was given to me as a holiday gift. The writers are from our area and this book was promoted a lot through radio, parishes, the diocese, and so on. I was excited when I unwrapped it. I was much less excited when I started reading it. I forced myself to finish it before passing judgement. I feel that it's a one star book, at most. I was really wanting more from a book of this kind. So much more. I hope there will be other books coming soon on this subject by other authors.

Just finished my first read through. I greatly enjoyed it, and left with alot of challenges and fresh ideas on how to increase my own domestic church. High recommend for anyone with a family looking for ways to more fully live out their faith.

I purchased this book expecting to gain much more from it than I did. My wife and I both read through it and found it lacking. Excellent topic to address but this did not do it justice. I hope others will tackle the topic and produce a much more well-rounded work.

Living Beyond Sunday is an excellent book for families new to the faith, someone who possibly does not practice the faith and would like to begin, or someone converting to Catholicism. I purchased this book after listening to the Ascension Podcast, Girlfriends, with Danielle Bean, who had the authors as guest speakers- it was a delightful talk on the podcast!

This book is not mediocre, probably not for someone well versed in the teachings of Catholicism. It's a wonderful introduction to building the families domestic church. I am newly married and returned to the faith, thanks be to God, and it is a great read. My husband and I have found this book helpful in building our domestic church. The book is about pocket size and an easy read. There are resources located in the back of the book to further read on expressed topics discussed in the book.

I am inspired to live the Catholic faith fully and deeply. I would recommend to young adult Catholic men and women as well.

I received this book as an Advent gift from a fellow Bible study group member. I had heard about it, as the writers are from our area, work for the Diocese, and were pushing it a good bit. I must admit that it did not meet the hype or my expectations. I do suppose that if you did not grow up in the Catholic faith or practicing the faith properly it could be helpful. In any way, I cannot say that I would recommend it to or purchase it for others.

I’m a dad trying to start my family and desire to raise them in the faith. This book has given me a foundation with practical steps on how to lido just that. Highly recommended and will be buying more to give away at my parish.

I was expecting content that was fresh and revivifying. This was not it. I'm disappointed, to say the least.

I greatly enjoyed reading through this with my wife to gain ideas about developing our domestic church. We found it to be a helpful introduction and right away started looking into the resources given in the back. I would recommend this book for anyone beginning their journey in developing their faith into a year-round, all-of-life commitment.

I had high hopes for this title, but it did not measure up for me. Nothing new under the sun in this one. Our family found it to be very dull and disappointing. Most of the content is just common sense. Not at all worth it.

Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with this book. I found it exceptionally underwhelming. Nothing in this book seemed like new information to me. I was truly hoping for a resource with fresh, fun ideas... something that inspired me to learn and grow in holiness. This missed the mark by a mile for me, personally. 😔

My wife and I have enjoyed this book and its insight into the domestic church. It has been an easy read for our night-time read aloud and has provided a good beginning to a topic we have just started to explore. I am very thankful for the recommended reading in the back so we can pursue these ideas and practices further.

A very enjoyable read with practical steps that parents can take to foster holiness in their homes. Wish I had this book 20 years ago, but I am thankful it is available now.

A great book for not just Catholics but all families with Christian values. I’d recommend all young couples looking to marry to read Living Beyond Sunday to form a base for their new family life and the years that come.

This is a great book! It is a blue print on having a great domestic church and how to be a better person!

This is a perfect resource for all couples, from those two are engaged and recently married, to those (like myself) with multiple kids at home, to grandparents seeking to find ways to help keep their children and grandchildren in the faith. I found 'Living Beyond Sunday' to have the perfect balance between the questions of "why" and "how" to make your home a domestic church. Chapters are concise, echoing Adam, Haylee, David and Pamela's time as busy parents, understanding that time to read is a rare and precious resource. Highly recommended!

Short and easy read but packed with thoughtful advice of how to live the Catholic faith in the home. This is a perfect book for young couples. , both my wife and I were able to read it together. Thank you, Ascension Press for such a wonderful product.
