Written for children ages ten to twelve, this humorous, comic book-style story walks with a not-so-typical girl named Emily who talks with Jesus.
As Emily makes ordinary decisions throughout the day and the liturgical year, kids learn that Jesus loves us personally and we are called to reflect his love in our ordinary decisions.
The comics and humor in Donuts After Mass: A Tale About Walking with Jesus are sure to draw in young Catholics, from voracious readers to those who do not normally enjoy reading.
This book includes:
- Whimsical, full-color artwork on every page
- Funny and endearing conversations between Emily and Jesus
- A beautiful and durable hardcover format
Free bonus: Those who purchase Donuts After Mass will be emailed a one-page guide containing reflection and discussion prompts to go with the book. This guide helps parents and teachers prompt children to think more deeply about the cartoons to uncover the spiritual lessons of the story.
"Kids of all ages will love to follow along with Emily as she walks with Jesus. Her everyday ups and downs are a mix of funny and poignant, goofy and deeply moving. The charming illustrations draw you in and bring you along for the ride as Emily grows in relationship with Jesus. A book for every family, library, and classroom!"

Love this book! Perfect for 10 year olds and up! Adults will be moved as well as children! Love love love this book!
Very realatable for todays world. Loved how the character could talk to Jesus and how Jesus was so invold in her life. My daughter thought the book was very funny as well. I could hear her laughing at some of the situations in the book. Great message to love and forgive others like Chirst would want us to. Thank you for having resorces like this to encourage young lives.
I am pretty sure this is my all time favorite kids book. It is so wonderful and beautiful. It’s so real and so sweet. The little girl Emily has such a real and beautiful relationship with our Lord and it reminds me of myself when I was a kid. Definitely one to buy multiple copies to give to friends.
I absolutely love this book! Would you please please please make a boy version that will attract young boys to the same relationship with Jesus? Thank you!
Great for the young kids who will love the animation AND for the adults who will read it to them. Surprisingly moving! And funny! And thought provoking! Love the "personal relationship with Christ." Love the art! Love Emily! Buying more copies for my grandchildren and for Baptism and First Holy Communion gifts.
