I am an OCIA coordinator for our parish and have been for nearly 15 years. When The Mass was first introduced over 13 years ago I started using it in the introductory portion of my sessions. I felt that a firmer understanding of The Mass was what the participants needed since we were asking them to attend weekly Mass while they discerned this is truly what they want to do. Many have been so thankful for that early background - we switched to the second version when it came out 3 years ago! This is one of the best studies I’ve taken. I went from going to Mass on Sunday to going everyday to start my day with Christ. Such a love for the Eucharist has grown in me and has changed my life. It explained the why we do the different parts of the Mass - where, in the Bible, the tradition of each section developed. It opened my eyes to see God’s glory in the Mass.
