I can hardly wait for Jan 1 and "transforming" with The Bible in a year and Catechism in a year and the wonderful Father Mike. I finished a bit early for the first time this year as had fallen behind and was trying to catch up. I absolutely miss starting my mornings with the Bible, Catechism and Fr Mike. True Blessings. Father Mike's podcast is a tremendous blessing. Although we've never met, I pray for him as he does for me. I'll be at one of life's many crossroads and something Father Mike said will pop up and help guide me.
On Day 336 of Bible in a Year Fr. Mike helps us understand that when there were debates in the early days about things such as whether Jesus was equal to the Father; and Jesus never talked about that; and the answer is not in scripture -- who decides? And of course, the Lord gave the Church Fathers the Holy Spirit and the power to decide so many things that now have become our present day Church. And our Church Fathers today continue that tradition headed by Pope Leo. Fr. Mike not only reads the scripture of the day, he explains it so that we all can understand it better, and gives us the context for today's living. I have been facilitating Bible studies in two parishes for many years, and Fr. Mike's Bible in a Year will help me do a better job of it, so that my fellow learners can do a better job of understanding and sharing the Word. We are so blessed to have this heavenly resource.
