New Year, New Plans

Jackie and Bobby share some exciting news!

Starting in the new year, Jackie and Bobby will be moving to Dallas, TX, to work as fellows with the Word on Fire Institute! This is a huge change for their family, and they will be moving away from California, where Jackie has been her whole life. With this big move comes enormous trust in the Lord and his will, which may just be the best New Years' resolution we can have.

We’ve all heard the classic “where do you see yourself in 5 years” question, and maybe we have an idea of what we might want that to look like, but if we truly are following the will of God, we shouldn’t have an answer for that question. Nothing is guaranteed: we don’t even know what will happen tomorrow, let alone 5 years from now! But if we continually pray for God’s will to be done in our lives, we will notice ourselves having a deeper trust in his plan, and with our own lives.

So, as the new year comes upon us, let’s try to make this the year of saying yes to the Lord, and all he offers. Ask him every day how you can do his will, how you can strive towards the kingdom of heaven, and maybe what is keeping you from that resolution. Is it a job, a house, or even a relationship? This year, resolve to let the Lord lead your life and creating your own personal fiat, just as Mary did during the annunciation. Let 2021 be the year of saying, “thy will be done.”
