Before entering the religious life, Brother Michaelangelo played poker for a living, and his life of gambling made him quite successful. He enjoyed partying, clubs, and travel for a good part of his young adult life, but living this lifestyle that so many aspire to had an emptiness to it.
He knew he was neglecting the longing in his soul that only God can satisfy. So after praying about it, he left and eventually joined the friars.
