Should We Celebrate Halloween?

How can we celebrate Halloween in a way that is true to our faith?
This week we are talking about Halloween and all the ways we can (as well as how we should) observe Halloween and All Saints Day. I share some of my own struggles with this issue as well as some practical ideas for ways to celebrate this season.
Here is a link to the photo I mention that I consider my “defense” of celebrating Halloween: Captain America!
I also mention that I am promoting a special project just for Advent. To find out more about how you can bring this program (and me!) to your parish or community, please check out all the information available at my website: daniellebean.com/advent
As a regular segment beginning this week, and for the next several shows, I am sharing a bit of the content from my new book, You Are Enough: What Women of the Bible Teach You About Your Mission and Worth. This week, we consider the story of Rahab and how God called her, in spite of her sinfulness and failures, to play an important role in history. In her story, we can see how God calls us, despite our sinfulness and failures, and we have dignity and worth in our identity as his precious daughters.
Snippet from the Show:
Halloween doesn’t have to be an all or nothing event—you don’t have to dive headfirst into demonic costumes, but you also don’t have to skip it all together.
