Jesus, the Master Communicator (Part 1)

How did Jesus teach? What was his style? It is very important for us to understand what Jesus taught and what it means for our lives. However, as Jeff Cavins shares in this episode, it is also important for us to understand how Jesus taught. If we can understand his methods, we can do our best to share and teach the faith as he did. Jeff outlines some of the characteristics of Jesus’ teaching method in this episode.

Jesus Was…

• Available
  "The word became flesh and lived for a while among us"(John 1:14).
  "John saw Jesus coming toward him" (John 1:29) That's street-level availability...physically accessible.
• Sensitive
  He was tuned in. He picked up on subtle signals from people.

Securing the Student’s Attention

• He used His eyes. "He saw two brothers, Simon...and Andrew" (Matt 4:18); "Jesus turned, and beheld them following" (John 1:38).
• He initiated conversation. He said to the woman at the well, "Give me a drink, " and she immediately answered (John 4:7-9).
