Jesus said " the gates of hell will not prevail " . Implicit in these words – the gates of hell will never stop trying. When we look at Church History – the Roman persecutions, the heresies, Islam, the eastern schism, the protestant revolt, Japanese and Chinese persecutions, the Nazi holocaust, the clergy abuse it is clear that the gates of hell have pulled out all stops against the Church. Yet true to the promise of Christ it still survives. We have a Pope. Thanks be to God. The strength, power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit be upon you .Alleluia
