Faith and Sacraments: Why Symbols Matter (Part Four)
The Ascension Team
Our modern world sees symbols with skepticism because it only values what can be empirically demonstrated. However, symbols are a key part of any culture, including Catholicism. Today, I summarize the significance of the document we’ve been reading in our series on faith and the sacraments. I explain how the sacraments are outward symbols that communicate the inward grace and power of God, and why we are called to preserve the symbols of our faith rather than manipulate them.
