Whisper

This is such a great book! I truly believe it is a gift from God. I cried when the author talked about childlike faith and the presence of God. This is such a great read.

I would highly recommend this book. An easy read and relatable.

Let me start off with that I really like Danielle Bean, I love her book Momnipotent, her podcast, etc. This book I felt like read as if it could've been done in a feel-good blog post and gotten the point across. The message is a good reminder but really not much meat there to warrant it being a chapter book.

I would highly recommend this book to every Catholic to read.
In our busy every day life, we often forget to stop, look and listen for God.
In this very easy to read and understand book are numerous suggestions on
when and where to find God. He is there waiting for us to reach out in every
little thing we do. We just need to be aware of His always being available and
talk to Him about what is going on in our lives.

Danielle Bean does it again! I put myself on a moratorium from buying more books - but when my word of the year is PRESENCE, and she writes a book about finding God in the everyday, I buy it. I found this book extremely relatable. She shares personal experiences and the way God makes Himself known. It was to beautiful to read this as a Mom. She's very encouraging. I appreciate that each chapter ended with a prayer - and there is an index of prayers in the back.

Sometimes during the homily don't you feel as if the priest is speaking directly to you? That is how I felt from the very first chapter of this book! I felt as if Jesus was speaking to me through Danielle's insightful words.

Great book. Easy light reading. For those who struggle with seeing God, this books really explains well.... we will not all hear the voice of God directly as so many of us desire. It shows us how we can see Him in so many places and people. Most importantly it confirms that you are not alone in wanting so deeply to feel that. We are all different and we will all feel and see God in different ways. One thing you can be sure of is He is always there.
And I’m only half way through! I highly recommend this book.

From the first page, Whisper spoke to me and gave me renewed hope that God is absolutely right where I am each and every day. Danielle's intimate writing style makes you feel like you are sitting down with a wonderful friend.

The stories that Danielle shares in each chapter brought to mind similar stories from my life and helped illuminate simple ways in which I can strengthen my own relationship with God.

I enjoyed the layout of the book and how each chapter reflects on a different area of life. There was the perfect balance of encouragement through the personal stories she shares and motivation to grow closer to God.

This book is a must read for anyone who has or wants a more personal relationship with God.

I also do not wear the flowing robe, or have a aura of peace and a glow about me. But, because I read Danielle’s book, I feel like I have the tools and steps to take to grow in my faith and as an everyday mystic. Reading This book, I feel like I’m told things I should have known all along, but Danielle puts it all into such a clear and understandable format. It’s like sitting in the kitchen getting life wisdom from your Mom. We are, all of us, surrounded by the gentle flowing river of God’s love every day. Read this book for some gentle, mystical, motherly reminders of what we already hold in our hearts.

Danielle Bean answers two of the biggest questions many of us have: “How do I pray?” and “How do I find time to pray?” You can look all over the internet for prayer tips. You can even read a stack of books or ask friends how they manage to pray amidst the chaos of life. But sometimes those answers lead to a prayer life that feels like work or just another box to check-off on a daily to-do list.

This book is different. Its message is to stop striving to find God, because He is already right here in the mundane of the everyday. Danielle uses personal experiences to show how it's possible to make prayer not just a part of your day, but a way of life.

I finished this book with a renewed sense of what prayer could look like and simple tips that I quickly implemented when I felt the need to complain, indulge, or ignore strangers. Before reading this book, I thought my prayer time had to be quiet solitude away from the noise of life and, as beautiful as that can be, it was also refreshing to realize how the actions of my life are a prayer - and not in a cliché way. In a very genuine and beautiful way.

So, if you are that person who is wondering how to pray and how to find time to pray - this book will no doubt be a treasure for you. You’ll look forward to each chapter and probably nod your head, like I did, laugh a little, cry a little, and finish it feeling inspired (not overwhelmed!) to pray and find God in the everyday.

This is the theme in Danielle Bean’s newest book, Whisper.

Danielle writes that God doesn’t need to be searched for. He is next to me, waiting for me to turn and look him in the eye. I need to just open my eyes and see him. The chapters in Whisper lead the reader to where God can be found, where he is waiting for us. In other people, in our pain, in the Sacraments, in Scripture, and many other places.

Whisper is a lovely read. At the end of the book, the reader finds that Danielle has given us the gift of “bonus material.” There’s a rich section she titles “Everyday Prayers,” 15 pages of prayers and meditations for every day and season of life.

My favorite part is the last section of bonus material, which, to me, is like a mini retreat: “Everyday Scripture.” But it’s not “everyday” in any way. In this section, Danielle has gifted us with multiple Scripture passages to meditate upon for each chapter in the book. It enables the reader to go deeper into each of the “everyday” ways we can encounter God.

Encountering God is not an “everyday” experience, yet he CAN be encountered EVERY day. All we need to do is open our eyes and turn to him. He is waiting for us. Right next to us.

As always, Danielle Bean meets me where I am. Reading WHISPER is like having a dear, wise friend sit across the table from you, seeing you, hearing you, and helping you find your way closer to the expansive love of the Lord. Danielle shares her challenges in a way that encourages me to face my own struggles with grace and trust in Jesus. Her voice is one we can all relate to, and her message is one we all need.

With references to real-life present-day and Biblical stories, Danielle helps us to understand how we can "hear the little next right thing" from God. She shares tidbits of wisdom throughout her whole book, gives her readers examples of how we can see God in every day places in every day life, and helps us to understand how we, too, can hear the whisper of God. I enjoyed how she wrapped up her chapters with a reflection prayer, and the list of Catholic prayers at the end of her book was an unexpected added bonus. It's a book every Christian should read!

I felt very encouraged by the words of Danielle Bean. She struggles with the same things that I do as a wife and mother and it felt good to know that I'm not alone. Danielle's book was so easy to read and like having a conversation with a friend. Loved her prayers at the end of each chapter. They were comforting and encouraging. I'm definitely going to reread this book and commit some of her prayers to memory so I can use them when life gets stressful and to make myself listen for God's Whispers.

It’s a big promise that Danielle Bean makes with this book, and she doesn’t just deliver, she also introduces a mindset that’s sorely lacking for most of us. Bean shares her wit and wisdom, gleaned from decades of parenting and living and praying and failing. But don’t be fooled: This is not a pie-in-the-sky instruction manual, but rather a collection of best practices borne from the tears and trials of someone in the trenches with you. Not only is this a delight to read, it’s sure to guide you closer to Christ.

And if you read this beautiful book, you probably heard Him more than once as I did. Danielle's beautiful way of seeing and hearing God in all that surrounds her, certainly spoke to my heart. Truth rings out in each of her chapters filled with scripture verses, and beautiful insight. I truly loved so many of the passages in this book it will go on my "keeper" shelf for many more reads to come. Such a treasure! I thank her for her beautiful soul, and openess of heart. As I was reading Danielle Bean's Whisper: Finding Good in the Everyone, I couldn't help but put myself and my life in the different positions Danielle talks about. I think everyone should read this book because we all need to find God in every day.

We also need to realize where we can find God. Danielle gives us examples from her life that are so relatable we should be able to see where God is in our own lives now work more clarity.

Danielle Bean has truly blessed me through this book! 'Whisper: Finding God in the Everyday' has been such a gift to me during this season of my life. As a mum of two little boys, finding the time everyday to pray 'like a mystic' doesn't happen as often as I'd like. However, Danielle has invited me to quite literally find God in the everyday, even the most mundane moments. She beautifully intertwines stories and real life experiences with Scripture and lessons from the Bible to invite her readers into a deeper daily mysticism. I could't wait to open this book every chance I got to continue reading examples and encouragement so I could draw closer to Christ in my daily life. I found myself pondering Danielle's stories and insights in my prayer, while I was changing diapers, preparing dinner, and sitting at traffic lights. I am eternally grateful for this wonderful book that has refreshed and renewed my relationship with God in so many ways. Thank you Danielle!

I have never read a book that I could relate to, as much as I do this one. It’s in plain words, easy to understand. Written in a way best friends talk to each other.
As I read I found things I could chance in myself to grow closer to God.
Isn’t that what we are all looking for ?

Danielle has been such a powerful mother figure in my life, and reading this new book of hers was exactly the reminder I needed from a mom in my life. The nudge to simply be with Christ and practice his presence in the everyday moments was just what I needed to read as I settle into a new season of motherhood. I can't recommend this book enough!

I was truly amazed at how Danielle changed my perspective about seeing God in my daily life.
