My heart is growing

This Bible study is expanding my love and appreciation for God more than I thought possible. As a cradle Catholic, faithful all my life, I didn’t realize how much more I had to learn. The beautiful Bible makes sense out of the separate Bible books, and the Bible Companion keeps track of the pertinent details of each day’s study. This is a fantastic way to journey with God and his people!

Great companion to hearing the Bible in a Year

I have learned so much this year listening to The Bible in a Year. This is a great addition to the commentary Fr. Mike gives after the readings. Sometimes my mind wanders, so it is really a great way to keep up with the key points. I highly recommend it!

Quality Not as Good

Information is the same as volumes one and three, but paper quality is significantly worse and feels really cheap compared to the other volumes.

Helpful

I like that I am able to follow along with the prayer following the session.

I usually read "Reflect on the word" prior to listening to the readings for the day. Then I follow along during the information talk by Father Mike.
So basically I like the book.

Only complaint is I thought it was a bit pricey. I am retired and on a fixed income. So I watch my pennies.

I am enjoying the Bible Study,

The Bible in a Year Companion, Volume II

A couple of months ago I began hearing, The Bible in a Year with Fr. Sergio Serrano in Spanish, and I liked it so much, that I bought The Bible from Ascension in Spanish. This is a beautiful Bible, specially organized to follow the videos step by step.
When I found out about The Bible in a Year Companion, Volume II, I decided to buy it although it is in English to study the word of the Lord better, and it has been wonderful.

Clear, Concise, Deeper Understanding

The Bible in a Year Companion book has helped me to have a deeper understanding of Scripture, leading to know God on a more personal level and thus to a deeper love of God, but more importantly God's love for me!
A heartfelt thanks to Jeff Cavins and Fr. Mike Schmitz for all their work and prayers.

TGAB Companion vol 2

So excited to have Vol 2 companion to Great Adventure Bible. I love having it to go along with Fr. Mike and the podcast. It's helping my spiritual growth. (This is my second year with the podcast. I'm looking forward to next year's podcast.) Can't wait for vol 3 to come out!

God's Gift

This is such a cool story. I listened to Father Mike everyday read the Bible and explain it to me and all the other thousands of people listening. I used a Bible that I had growing up to follow along. By November like day 315 I decided to order the package deal... The Great Adventure Bible, The Companion, Timeline etc. When I ordered it, I received and email that it was back ordered and I knew that the mail was little slower at that time. So, I wasn't expecting it anytime soon. A week later I received a package ON MY BIRTHDAY. It was my knew Bible and companion books. I was so excited. GOD gave me a birthday gift. Inside the Bible it has a place for your name and who gave it to you. I was so excited to write God gave it to me!!!!
The best birthday gift I have ever received.

I have learned so much from Father Mike and Jeff, I must say that the Companion and other tools have made it easier to grasp and retain. Everyday, I thank God for Father Mike and Ascension. Looking back this past year and three months, I realized that I really didn't know what I should have about God and scripture at age 51. Your never to old to learn!!!!

Easy to understand & Follow Along

Using the companion helps reinforce all the important "take aways" and life lessons we can glean from scripture.
I would not retain as much if it weren't for reading the Companion Book.

It is quick and easy to read as it is written in brief sentence bullet points.

If you want the Bible In a Year in quick and easy to understand format this is the book to use!!!!

Great Companion

Last year I just listened to The Bible in a Year and learned so much. This year I am actually reading along in the Great Adventure Bible and using The Bible in a Year Companion and learning so much more. I do take notes, but don’t have to write so much, as the majority is covered in the companion. I highly recommend the companion!

The Bible in a year companion

This is my 2nd time listening to the Bible in a Year with Father Mike. So I am still in the 1rst Bible in a year companion book. I also have the Bible in a year notebook that I write in. I love all the books! The Great Adventure Bible is also wonderful!
I am a convert but I have never totally understood the Catholic faith mass etc
I am truly thankful for all of these books and Father Mike. It really is a wonderful story of our faith and has such a great summary of the Bible. I always had the impression that Revelation was upsetting to read but that is not true! Revelation replicates Heaven and Heaven here on earth in the Mass. It is beautiful!

Fantastic Summary

I love that the BIAY Companion is a concise summary of Fr. Mike’s comments and his daily prayers. It also has a section to “dive deeper”. I think it’ll be a great resource to use in years to come. “For the Word of God is living and active … discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Fantastic!

I gave volume 1 to my husband for Christmas and he loves it, so I got volume II for him! He especially likes the bullets (that’s what we call the daily one liner summary points!) He says they are very informative and great! Thanks Ascension for yet another amazing study!!

The Bible in a Year Companion Vol.I &II

This is exactly what I've been praying for since I started the journey last year. To dive deeper in the readings. Theses books are something that can be handed down to the next generation.

Fabulous Resource

The Companion books are wonderful resources for Bible-in-a-Year! I tried taking notes but it was inconvenient and distracting. the Companion books make the experience richer and easier. All the important points are there including Fr. Mike's prayer as well as some good additional information related to the readings. Thank you for these resources, and everyone is looking forward to Companion #3!

An Excellent Resource

My volume 1 arrived as I started my 2nd year of BIAY and I am finding that the notes I took are covered in the Reflect on the Word section. Additionally, Father Mike’s daily prayer is included along with a Dive Deeper section. It may contain additional information, illustrations or a spiritual exercise. I look forward to purchasing Volume 3. Blessings to Father Mike and his team for a wonderful program.

Outstanding Summary of Fr. Mike's Comments

Volumes 1 and 2 are excellent summaries of Fr. Mike's comments at the end of each daily reading. Although I take notes during his teachings, the points in the Bible in a Year Companion add to those notes. I look forward to Volume 3.

Perfect Companion

I bought Volume 1 and questioned my purchase at first (I was at about Day 100 when it arrived), but really loved how it helped provide further insight in Father Mike's teachings. Was hoping that Volume 2 would have arrived a little sooner to better synch with my progress, but I've already decided once I'm done with the initial run that I'll be doing a repeat and using them all over again. Look forward to purchasing Volume 3!
