No Greater Love

This book. What can I say. I am still thinking about it. One of my favorite reads and studies I have ever done.

Dr. Sri never ceases to amaze me with his insights. I have read this book several times and plan on reading it again and again. An excellent book for Lenten reading. Every time I read it, I learn something new. You can't just do the Bible study. It's on the surface. You have to delve into it. Wonderful book!

Amazing book. It's a great way to reconnect our journey with Christ.

Dr. Sri crafted a work that is not only a detailed illustration of the Passion, but cites Old Testament prophecies to the events detailed in the Gospels accounts of Christ’s Passion. The references lead to a “deeper dive” and the Seven Last Words articulate the meaning and how they relate to Psalms and are not meant to be interpreted literally, but rather further emphasize the Son of Man accepting his fulfillment of his earthly mission being completed.

It’s a very easy read, but rich with details and provide full accounts in a consolidated manner. I’m a huge fan of Dr. Sri, and “No Greater Love” is one of my favorites. I even bought a copy for my dad as a “Lent present” knowing he would enjoy it and despite having his Catholic education, would offer him the feeling of unconditional love, mercy, and grace that I felt while reading it.

This book opened my understanding of so many aspects of Jesus’ suffering and death. Dr. Sri anticipates every question one might have about the Gospel accounts and guides us step by step to the depth of each act, each word, and the background in which the drama too place. I especially was touched with his clear and easily understood citing how Jesus was fulfilling Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah. My mind and heart were opened as I read about the passion from the point-of- view of those who witnessed it and understood the prophecies.This book has had a transforming and deepening effect on my love for Jesus and a sense of appreciation for the way Scripture reveals how the Bible is one continuous and consistent story! Truly amazing!

Amazing book about Christ’s Passion. Have read it more than once. Excellent read for Lent. Have recommended to my small church group & we will be using it for discussion for Lent. Will also be watching the videos. Anxious to be sharing & discussing with others.

One of the most amazing books I have read about Christ’s Passion and his 7 last words from the cross. Easy to read and understand. Had me in tears more than several times. An excellent book for the Lenten season

I find that many times I'll start a book, but after a while, I'll put it down and forget about it. It seems that life places too many claims on our time.
Once I began reading this book, I couldn't put it down. I can't remember the last time I've so enjoyed reading a book.

We did this study at our parish and provided all participants with a copy of the book, and we viewed the videos together in a class at church. We usually struggle getting people to do the "homework" between videos when we run events like this; however, this book people were just RAVING about! Multiple people said they just couldn't put the book down, and overall the entire study was very well received.

Truly a masterpiece! I bought this book when it was available before lent, but I saved it for my 3 day retreat in June. I could not put the book down. This work is very accessible to the average reader and is full of meaningful insights. If you want to understand how the passion of Christ is the fulfillment of the Father's long promised salvation then this book if for you!

I read No Greater Love during Lent and it changed my Lenten journey in ways I never thought it would! The story of Jesus’ Passion and how it relates to the Old Testament was truly an eye opener and a blessing to me! On the Wednesday before Holy Thursday I attended a beautiful Cantata on the Seven Last Words of Jesus from the cross and then to go through Holy Thursday and Good Friday and read that part of the book while attending Good Friday Services made the crucifixion so real and so heart tending! Thank you, Dr. Sri for writing this book! It truly was a blessing to me and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good book to read especially during Lent! God bless you!!

My wife and I offered this series to our parish and had about 27 participants. Overall it has been a great series! We had a lot of confusion in the beginning with how the sessions would run, particularly the first session. It wasn't clear what we were supposed to do at the first session. I think it would of been better to have a pre-series meeting with the participants where we handed out the materials and laid out the plan before starting the series. We both called Ascension Press a few times to try and clarify how the first session was run and going forward into the second session. Some participants were a little overwhelmed with the amount of work required, but we stressed to do what you can and don't worry about trying to cram it all in.
