Holy Bible – The Great Adventure Catholic Bible, Second Edition

I absolutely love listening to Father Mike read the Bible in a year at night before I go to sleep. I have found it hard to sleep if I don’t listen. This is my second year for signing up to listen. I felt like I didn’t understand some parts so I am listening again this year. Thank you Father Mike, I will continue to pray and listen for your Bible In A Year podcast!

There are plenty of words to describe from the website which I wholeheartedly agree with. Your opinion is what matters in choice of taste. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and it’s the first Bible in 30 years I have owned.
I’m just realizing you cannot add pictures to this review which is a disadvantage since there are only a few views of the Premium Bible which seem ill thought out.
The Bible is great. The only nit picky issue is the stitching on the goatskin inside stitching bunches in one place which when mass produced books are done in a big mass it happens which is not a huge deal or it would have been stopped and caught and put aside due to Quality Assurance standards. The pages are still thick and have a great feel with the gold fringe. The bookmarks are welcome since reading from three sections at a time can get confusing if not bookmarking.
I’m sure you can make notes in this edition but I bought a paperback version earlier in the year so I can mark that copy instead of buying the note taking copy.

I like premium Bibles and have several others from Schuyler and Zondervan. This goatskin Catholic Adventure Bible is excellent, easily competing with Zondervan and close to Schuyler. Nice quality cover, easy to turn pages with no ghost-through. My only nitpick is that the marker ribbons should be a little longer. Overall, fantastic quality Bible.

Substantively, I haven't had the Bible enough to give detailed comments. What I have read thus far is great. I like the timeline feature, the Bible in a year reading plan, and the references to both scripture and the Catechism. The articles I have looked at provide very useful information.

This Bible is a great purchase and it's worth the extra money for the premium cover.

I bought this beautiful Bible as a gift for my son who has been away from the Catholic Church for some time. It is much nicer than any of my 5 Bibles I own. I bought the Great Adventure Bible in Large print for myself over a year ago but I gifted it to my granddaughter who is about to get married. I also bought one for my daughter for her birthday. I did multiple Bible studies of The Great Adventure Walk through the Bible with Jeff Cavins. This Bible has so much historical information that many Bibles do not have. It also has a 365 daily reading guide for reading the Bible in a Year and more. The brown goat hide cover is soft and the gilded pages are beautiful. This Bible is very well made and print size is comfortable even for my old eyes, I would like it to be offered in large print in this beautiful goat hide format. I realize the price would be much higher but I know I would love it.. It just makes you want to pick it up and read it. To me, this the perfect study Bible. Now I need to buy another one for ME.
