Excellent for homeschool

I used this Storybook and the accompanying Intermediate Workbook for my first grader's homeschool course this year. We tackled a chapter a week, splitting each chapter between two days so as to fully absorb what we'd read before moving on.

We both loved it! He was thrilled each week to sit down with me and see what would happen next in the story of salvation history. I found the material to be incredibly rich in terms of the number of Bible passages included, the level of detail, and the helpful explanations, appendices, glossary, etc. I also really enjoyed the discussion questions included at the end of each chapter, as those were a great way to ensure his understanding of what we'd read and make connections to his own life.

I absolutely appreciated that the passages were not watered down to a "little kid" type of Bible. However, I did find that I needed to pause every few sentences while reading to "translate" what I'd read for my first grader. The book is intended to go along with the curriculums for K - 8, and it definitely lends itself more in language to older kids. That said, going through it together, my first grader and I got so much value out of this Storybook, the workbook, and our discussions. I'm thrilled to have found this invaluble resource for our homeschool.

This was a perfect BIAY-style Summer Bible Study program for my sons.

Last Summer, while both schools and Religious Education classes were out for the summer, we used this program at home, and scheduled it out to finish it by September by doing at least two lessons a week. It was a wonderful resource for both boys, an eight-year-old and a teenager. It also helped me to simplify and reinforce what I was learning through the Bible in a Year podcast. It was especially good that we also had the Great Adventure Bible for reference with some of the workbook questions, as the actual verses from the bible often weren't in the "Storybook" version.

Great

It has been very helpful for all of us actually, because it reminds you small important details that sometimes we forget as adults. We love the activities and games our children get to do.

Outstanding book!

I used these books to teach Salvation History to my grandchildren. They are 9 and 11. Understanding the biblical timeline and the covenants are invaluable.
Thank you for this series. I hope you produce more in the future.
God bless!

Simple, clear program to understand the Bible

We keep going back to it evrytime we need to remember what was happening or why is something happening in the readings for daily Mass or the Jesse tree in Advent. For instance, we didnt know all the details about Rahab and Joshua and how she is part of the ancestors of king David, St Joseph, the chaste husband of Mary. The Maccabeas is probably the section we have enjoyed the most. It is the perfect timeline to Jesus. God bless Ascension and Jeff Cavins for this
