Prepare your heart for Reconciliation and enter more deeply into this powerful sacrament

The Pocket Guide to the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a beautiful, prayerful book by Fr. Mike Schmitz and Fr. Josh Johnson which helps Catholics enter in to the Sacrament of Reconciliation more deeply.

They discuss why Catholics are called to Reconciliation, how to form a healthy conscience, and what to expect when walking into the confessional in order to lead Catholics to better understand and appreciate the beauty of this sacrament, ultimately inspiring them to seek the grace and forgiveness that Christ longs to bestow on them.

In this small but powerful book, Fr. Mike and Fr. Josh explain:

  • How to make an excellent examination of conscience

  • How to identify the root cause of sins you find yourself confessing over and over again

  • What to do if you don't feel sorry for your sins

  • What to do if you can't think of anything to say

  • What do to if you are afraid to confess a particular sin

Not only does this resource help readers better understand the opportunity for grace and peace found in the sacrament of Reconciliation, it is also perfect for bringing along every time you go!

With its small size and durable cover, it fits in most bags. It also contains an Examination of Conscience and the Act of Contrition for reference leading up to and during your experience of the sacrament.

See why Catholics everywhere are using this book to prepare for Reconciliation!

Amazing book

I purchased this book as an e-book. I did so to decrease my “stuff” as I have so many books.. religious books that were my mom’s, my own that I collected over the years. The benefit to the e-book, I always had it available. I completed it in two days; went back to certain parts and had a whole new understanding and appreciation of the sacrament of reconciliation. I had been away from the sacrament for over 15years and spontaneously went back for the first time in year. I was at church, the crowd had not started yet, and the priest was sitting in the “reconciliation room” alone. The last time I went to “confession” was in darkness in a box, behind a screen. The priest was everything Fr. Mike and Josh said; patient, helpful, guiding me in “the steps”. I read this book and went back several months later to the same priest and had a deeper appreciation and understanding of the “process”. I was more prepared. I do know that a patient, compassionate priest makes all the difference but wow this book was so helpful. Should be a must-read for all Catholics.. I am sure more would avail themselves to the sacrament. Each time I do.. I will review this book as part of my prep for the sacrament. Thank you Fr. Mike and Josh!!
