I donated a copy to our parish school library. Both the text and illustrations are incredible!
This is a creative way of helping children imagine themselves as children in Jesus’ time in Jerusalem. The beautiful pictures and words will help children understand Jesus and what he did in the Eucharist.
I love this book! It’s an interesting, fun story, and a great way to teach children about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
I bought this book in hopes that it would help make Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist more understandable to my 3 and 5 year old children. I honestly was disappointed. I don’t feel that this book helped in any way. Maybe it would be better for older children, but I don’t think it explained the real presence very well.
I am grateful of this book to give out & have my friends’ kids instill in them the importance of our uniqueness; the gifts that we can offer to Our Lord & people around us; & most importantly, the Body & Blood of Christ when we receive Him.
Extremely helpful!!!
Just a really good book that shows the totality of Body, Blood, Soul, Divinity in both species of the Eucharist. There is no competition.... that concept can be taught about other things (like individual gifts) using this book. Really nice way to teach young people the True Presence in terms they can understand more easily. Keep up the great work, Ascension!!
I bought this as an addition to our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. The language is down to earth so that the children can understand. They can sort of place themselves back in Jesus' time. I love the explanation that the book uses for how bread can be Jesus' body.
Beautiful and engaging Book that simply explains the Eucharist to a child! I know my Granddaughter will love it, especially since she just received her First Communion this past year!
What a beautiful blessing of knowledge to our young children, to learn about the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. I ordered this book for a First Communicant on May 8 & it shipped on the 10th. I was hoping it would arrive in time for services on May 15 but delivery showed for May 17. It must have been a miracle.
It left Milwaukee, WI on May 10 & I received on May 12 here in Idaho, in time for services. I was so happy. 🤗
There is one thing I want to point out in the book. Page 26 had a double printing of the word stood.
It is a wonderful book !
Praise God that it got to you!
We have noted the additional word on page 26 and will make the change for future printings. Thank you for letting us know!
This is the most beautiful story for children and adults!
What a gift of faith it presents!
I’m so glad I ordered two copies of this book: one for my grandchildren and one for my first grade catechism class. It’s such a beautiful illustration of The Eucharist for children. Children just love to learn from stories that feature children. I just love this book. Thank you for such a wonderful teaching gift.
This is a lovely story that does a delightful job of weaving Scripture and Catholic teaching into a tale of two children who live in the same town as Jesus. I look forward to sharing it with our religious education classes!
I liked the fact that this subject is being introduced to small children. I wish it had gone further in showing that Jesus is present in the Eucharist. Jesus needed to speak more about " this is my body." There was an untrue part about children being at the Last Supper, which is fiction.
