There are so many stories about the donkey carrying Mary it is so beautiful and refreshing to find one suitable for Easter! And without Easter no Christmas would have any eternal meaning! Her illustrations are charming in every detail. Such a beautiful talent.
The Little Donkey and God's Big Plan by Izabela Ciesinska centers on the donkey who carried Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Prior to encountering Jesus, the donkey leads a very lackluster life, but he has a friend who continuously assures him that God has a special plan for him. Sure enough, the donkey learns that Jesus has a special job for him to do!
My kids and I have really enjoyed reading this book today and in the days leading up to Palm Sunday. I love that it not only focuses on this special feast day, but also has a special message for children: that God has a plan for us, and we must keep trust in that assurance and strive to center our lives around doing God's will.

I purchased three of these for the oldest grandchild in each family of my three married children as an Easter gift. I was blessed to be able to unexpectedly see one 2 1/2 yr old grandchild who lives afar and be able to read it to her. She paid attention throughout the story. The illustrations are nice and she could identify Jesus even before we read the book. Looking forward to the other grandchildren to enjoy the book as well!
My 2 year old grandson LOVES this book! We read it every night. The illustrations are beautiful and the tender story is a great introduction to how loving Jesus is.
