Perfect use, could use with two pages per section as I found I didn’t have enough space but honestly I take very detailed notes so that might just be on me. Would definitely recommend

Without this dedicated notebook I don't know how I would keep track of my revelations of the Catechism and how it affects me personally. I can always go back to the day I had a specific realization and remember it no matter the circumstance. Grateful for this simple yet beautiful notebook

I like having my notes in one place. At a glance, the cover makes it easy to tell it's part of The Catechism in a Year. So far the space provided has been adequate, close but adequate and the color coding is helpful.. However, it is rather pricey for just a notebook.

Brilliant for active readers who prefer to write down main points of daily readings to complement the podcast.

A notebook. That is all it is. A bunch of blank, lined pages that are spiral bound. It's not a study guide. Just blank pages. Buy a spiral bound blank notebook at the Dollar Store and you will have the same thing and save a bunch of money.

Each day I look at a blank page and wonder what I am going to write down. I am always amazed that after listening to the podcast, most pages are full of great insight and learnings. At the end of the year I am going to have an amazing documentation of my journey and will provide for future thoughts in the years to come. So glad I purchased this notebook!

While I am blessed that this notebook is available and made specifically for CIY, it is too pricey. I would have expected a little more for the price. Nonetheless, love the spiral aspect of it and the fact that an entire page is dedicated to each day.

I love this notebook I was shocked to see that some did not like it. The best thing about it that it is ONE book. I do not know of any blank books that have this many pages. The Ascension notebook provides one page per day. Some days you need to write very small. It compliments the study nicely and is a handy aid. I am very glad I purchased both products. It seems that Ascension has thought of everything once again. Great job.

Would have liked to see a short verse applicable to each day at top of each days page rather than the same "how does the effect how I ....."

I find this CCC notebook to be very useful. Yes, I can use any spiral bound notebook but I like this notebook because the cover identifies it as the catechism study notebook, and each page is color coded, matching the CCC book. I use a colored pencil that matches the color coded section to help identify which pillar in am in. It is useful to have the daily readings written on each page for reference when I look back at my notes in the future. As I listen to the podcast I underline phrases and sentences which I find meaningful, and I write in the notebook some of the reflections Fr. Mike shares. It is also helpful for me to write in the notebook; in my own words: my understanding of the reading which can be useful for future reflection. I like organization so this CCC notebook is perfect for me.

I’m so glad that I ordered this Notebook. It’s nice and sturdy. Nice amount of not paper. Not to big or cumbersome.

The book is far too pricey for what it contains. A regular notebook would be just as good. I write the title of the days theme at the top of the page.

I can follow the daily reading and Fr Mike’s discussion easily while taking my own notes- the content is so rich this activity helps me to focus.

The notebook allows me to write my thoughts or to write phrases that I wish to remember. Don't have to highlight or write notes in the margins of the catechism.

I wasn’t sure how much I would use this, but I am happy to have it to take notes, write down favorite points highlighted by Father Mike or even Bible passages quoted. There is so much in the Catechism and this helps me to go back and look at the teachings that struck me most in on a given day. Love it!

The spiral binding is very helpful. I just leave the notebook open so I can pick it up the next day and easily find my place.'The reading plan is included so you can check off your progress. I learn better when I take notes so sometimes I put them in this book and sometimes I write them in my Catechism. I try to take the time to write down something that struck me about the day and stands out from the paragraphs read. I feel this is how God is speaking to me and forming me in my faith. It may seem like a small amount of time finding my place and getting started but it helps me to get ready to listen and knowing it will be easy motivates me to listen daily. I have learned a lot about the Catechism and I have used it since it came out many years ago. This study is very valuable ad this notebook will help me to revisit it when needed.

The notebook is clear and functional for taking notes. Very helpful for keeping track of important points.

I agree notebook for price from Ascension really isn't necessary. Any spiral notebook accomplishes same end.

I expected much more from the note book also. All his popints I would have said myself.

I expected each day in the notebook to have key points, and space for my notes. Thus, it would be a great reference, take along. I should have gone to Office Max, purchased a spiral notebook, dated the pages and would have had the same item for about 25% of the cost. Very disappointing from Ascension.

I was really excited to get the catechism notebook but when I received the notebook I was really disappointed. Maybe I didn’t read the description correctly but this “notebook” is truly just a plan notebook. I thought there was going to be “ great content” there is no content except for “days”. I also thought there was going to be at least a reflection of what was going to be covered each day on the day. Something to give us a start on the days notes some type of guidance. It’s literally just blank colored pages with the same reflection “how does this affect what I believe” on the same day every day. Something that relates to the catechism would have been so much better. And different for each day. Honestly I know this is just going to sit on my desk.

I am viewing Bible in a Year for 2nd time using the BIY Notebook this time. I am also viewing Catechism in a Year using the Notebook. Both notebooks help me keep up with the last date I viewed. They give me the opportunity to write my summary for the day. It helps maintain concentration (my mind wanders) using 3 styles of learning at once: verbal, visual, and notes.

I started out with a regular notebook, and then when this arrived, I copied all my notes over into my new Catechism in a Year notebook. I love that every day is listed with the catechism paragraphs for that day. I found re-writing my notes gave me another chance to review the information. Wonderful! Highly recommend.

I really like having this to keep my notes in. Gives you a blank page for each day’s reading.

The Journal is a wonderful companion to my Catechism in a Year studies. I love that it is spiral bound, has a title for the readings of each day, and plenty of writing room for me. I prefer to write my notes longhand rather than online so this is a great help to me. Thank you so very much, Ascension!

The CIY Notebook is touted as "The only notebook specially designed for use with The Catechism in a Year (with Fr. Mike Schmitz)!". However, I found this notebook a real disappointment. Once you sign up for the CIY podcast you are asked to download and print the CIY reading plan which is featured in the front of the CIY Notebook (which you've already downloaded). The remaining BLANK PAGES of the CIY Notebook are marked according to the day and the sections of the Catechism for that selected podcast. Actually, any spiral notebook, many times less expensive than the suggested notebook could be picked up at any discount store for less than 1/5 the price of the CIY Notebook. Or, as another reviewer pointed out, simply record your thoughts, questions, reflections, etc. on your computer in word document. If you've downloaded and printed the reading plan, skip this expensive notebook!

I expected an intro to each section NOT a 4 page intro then hundreds of pages without #’s.
Close to worthless.

In retrospect after receiving the notebook I could have just used a prayer journal. It’s color coordinated and has a bit more than a journal would offer but as it’s still early there’s not much to write
