My third year following Bible in a Year with Father Mike is still awesome and I am seeing and learning new things all the time.

Feeling grateful, fortunate and blessed to have found Bible in a Year. The bible isn't easy to read and understand but with Father Mike explaining the confusing parts :) and what the different books are teaching (and in what time period) it's much easier and enjoyable. I love his energy, wit and kindness.

A beautiful way to hear God’s word!

Thank you to Father Mike's Catechism in a Year for helping to bring me home. I left the Catholic Faith for 35 years attending various protestant churches during that time. The podcast gave me the tools I needed to have the confidence to return to the Catholic faith in a heavily protestant part of the USA. As well-meaning as other Christian traditions can be, we need the fullness of the truth of the Catholic Christian faith. Father Mike is making a powerful impact, and so I am praying for him.

Completed the Bible In a Year in a few short years!!! Found totally surprising I was drawn to the Old Testament in a way I never imagined. The theme of reconciliation was told over and over. It is not new. Even the greatest of the characters had deep sin but God still chose them. Act of confession/reconciliation has been going on for centuries. I give the Old Testament credit for taking me back to confession after 30 years. I never imagined how it would change me. Thank you. I look forward to moving through the catechism.

Listened to The Bible in a Year last year, and this year listening to The Catechism in a Year. Father Mike explains everything so well and makes it very enjoyable. Feel I'm becoming a better Catholic.

I am currently working through BIAY with Father Mike and RIAY with Father Mark Mary. Love both of these programs! I have made several attempts on my own to read through the Bible on my own without much success. Having Father Mike's prayers and commentary is incredibly helpful, not just to understanding what I'm reading, but having his encouragement to keep going. While I learned the mechanics of praying the rosary as a child, it had very little meaning to me and was not part of my prayer life. Something moved me to form a deeper relationship with the Blessed Mother and I began RIAY. So glad I did! I love the format and the deeper examination of the mysteries Father MM presents. I have gone through some other Ascension programs and all were good, but the one that completely blew me away was Father Columba's Crux program- incredible! I am just starting his Letters of St Paul program and I know it will be just as amazing.

I am on my second round of Bible in a Year and Rosary in a Year and I am now on day 197 of the Catechism in a Year. There aren't enough words to express the way these podcasts and improved my life and become an essential part of my day. The encouragement, understanding and grace I have received from listening to and praying with these podcasts are immeasurable. I cannot recommend them enough.

I just listened to the preview of the family Bible and a year podcast. It is amazing. This priest has got a very encountering voice and he makes it so simple to understand. I have a teenage granddaughter that I think will thoroughly enjoy it. I could do it myself and enjoy it even though I am currently doing Bible in a year with Fr. Mike. Thank goodness someone has come up with a podcast for younger people.

Father Mike was outstanding in sharing the Bible in a year to us all. I will be looking forward to hear his message and sharing it with my family. God bless you Father Mike.

I have to admit, comprehending the intricate details of the Bible, can be daunting. With the guidance and full support of Fr. Mike, my husband and I have completed a very successful 5 years of Bible translation and it’s been so very appreciated and awesome. Our plans are to continue with Fr. Mike, forever and a day. I am on my second round with the Bible in a year with Father Mike. When I complete that, I will start my second round with the Catechism in a year again with Father Mike. Both have helped me in my understanding of my faith. Although I find the Catechism in a year a bit stilted, in other words, not as easy to understand, even though Father Mike tries hard. Both readings have me pausing in the middle to look up something I don't understand. That is good!

I have listened to so many different things on this app. I love all the content! I listen daily to the short meditations given by different people on one of the daily readings or Psalms. I have listened to BIY, CIY,
Rosary in a Year, and am currently listening to the Mass in 30 days. It's so nice to be able to pick up where you left off if you miss a day or more. I definitely am able to learn more about our faith but also to hopefully grow in holiness. Such an amazing app with so many features and great speakers. Thank you for all you do to bring us closer to Christ and his church.

Listening and reading along with Bible in a Year has been an important part of my life for the last five years and recently Catechism in a Year. These have changed my life not only to be a better Catholic but to realize the many gifts that I've been blessed with. Purchases of the BIY and CIY are investments in my eternal future in building a deep relationship with Our Lord.

I’ve been listening to Bible in a Year and Catechism in Year since they came out. I consider them permanent additions to my daily prayers and reflections! With each “trip around the sun“ I continue to pick up new things! So grateful to Ascension and Fr. Mike Schmitz for taking the time to put these incredible podcasts together!

Before listening to the podcast, I had only a vague understanding of many aspects of the Catholic faith and found myself as a lukewarm spiritual person just going through the motions. But your reflections, stories, and daily encouragement have transformed my perspective, allowing me to see the true beauty, coherence, and living heartbeat of the Church's teachings in a much deeper way.

EVERYTHING on ascension is Great. After 5 years, I’m again participating in the Bible in a Year podcasts. on As tension, with Fr. Mike. I bought the Great adventure Bible first this 5 year anniversary study, & I love it. Fr.Mike dies an Amazing job. I also did the Catechism in a year, which I plan to do again next year when I complete the Bible… I also did the Risary in a Tear with Fr. Mark Mary , which I absolutely LOVED! I completed Thomas a Kempis book in addition to buying the book, & am looking forward to reading the Fr.Lawrence book: I’ve already listened to the introduction. And I absolutely LOVED Dr. Sri’sbook on the mass!! Wonderful ! Loved it. I’m a monthly donor & have been for several years. Thank you so much for this app. ( did the Lenten meditations as well& I truly enjoyed them. Especially Farther’ interpretation: really cool. I’m still trying to REGULARLY incorporate the Examen prayer every day: I do, however, recollect every day to stay aware of my fallen nature & work on my habitual sins. Thank you again🙏🕊️❤️

The Bible in a Year Podcast is one of the most meaningful experiences I've ever had in my life!!! After being baptised as an infant, going to Catholic school from grade 4 through grade 12, and attending mass my entire life, it was not until a friend shared the podcast link with me last year, that I really began to UNDERSTAND GOD'S WORD!!!

Father Schmidt's temperament made me enthusiastic to listen and re-listen, as often as possible!!! My mother gave me the foundation but now, my eyes are open and, I'm ready to begin again, and again, and again, listening and understanding the Word. My donations can't begin to equate with the wealth of knowledge and increase in my faith walk that the podcast has given me.

I do not use it as much as I should because it is difficult to remember. I am elderly. I will say I do support Ascension. I am very satisfied with this site. I purchased the book on understanding the Mass. It is a well written book. Order it, you will not be disappointed.
