I bought this last year for my three boys (current ages 5, 3, & 1) and they love it. I love the colorful images and the simple yet great retelling of Holy Week through Pentecost. My 5 year old is very familiar with Jesus’ death & resurrection yet still finds this book engaging enough for discussions and my 3 year old is just starting to understand the story as he’s been learning more about Jesus’ life.
The only thing I find odd about the book is the title - “Riding on a Donkey” doesn’t quite fit, in my opinion, for the entirety of the story when it’s just a brief part at the beginning with Palm Sunday.
I love this book. It brings the Passion of Our Lord to our granddaughter in language and images she can understand. Easy to read and beautifully illustrated!
Beautifully written story perfect for all ages really. Stunning pictures.
I remember as a kid we had great books to learn from. My mom gave them all away and this is the closest I've found that is good. The pictures are very colorful and it is well written. My grandson is only 14 months and it is a little much for him to sit still for the whole book but it keeps his attention with the illustrations and our reading for short periods. As he gets a bit older, this will be a good one to have. It is accurate and age-appropriate.
Bought this for my grandchildren, can't wait to read this to them.
