Interesting study but a little disappointing

I led this study within a class of about 10-15 people and most of the comments were favorable. I myself was somewhat disappointed, though, because I felt the study skipped many opportunities to delve into the symbolism, historical background and deep theological implications of the Gospel. There were portions of the Gospel where I felt the study just ignored some points that were crying out for further exploration.

In retrospect we selected this study for presentation because the length was a close fit to the time we had available prior to Christmas. Because it was relatively short I should have expected it would need to gloss over some things. I did feel, however, that it could have spent less time preaching and more time teaching.
