The Rosary in a Year Prayer Guide is already becoming an integral part of my Catholic journey. In OCIA and anticipating our first Eucharist at Easter Vigil, I find myself creating this "cloud" of All-the-Catholic-Things and wanting to jump into the vast history, knowledge and understanding of EVERYTHING, but that's not how we learn with meaningful retention.
Not only does the Rosary itself provide an opportunity to make prayerful moments matter, but the process in this guide (for those new to the Faith or not) requires a rumination over the most important Moments we could ever meditate upon. The three-fold study of the Rosary (This book, the Ascension podcast, and the practice) is unfolding for me in a beautiful way. I thought Praying the Rosary would be intimidating or not something I should pursue this early in my catechesis. However, with Fr. Mark-Mary's approach, I'm able to fold in aspects of our Holy Rosary in simple and fulfilling steps.
The imagery brought to mind also brings tears to my eyes. For example, early on Fr. Mark-Mary encourages us to envision ourselves in the workshop with CHRIST at a carpentry task for Our Mother. And I'll just have to leave this here... because the warmth and acceptance that overwhelmed me in these moments suspended me in time and relationship with The ONE who loves me most. If this is how this journey begins, then Wow. In all my 48 years of loving our LORD and I'm just now encountering a different level of comfort and familiarity? Wow. What an essential contagion of blessings this study has already initiated.
As with any "-in a Year" guide, one should approach at the pace that doesn't defeat you or widen the gap between you and your goal. There may be days you miss, and others where you cover three. Let it naturally happen and never let the lie that you have fallen short or off the path deceive you. This study is broken up in a way that is both soothing and surprisingly easy in approach to something I had not imagined ever doing - Praying the Rosary. Walk your walk in your way, with HIM.
Until now, I have only ever prayed the rosary once, at my daughter's hospital bed. Walking through it in this way, engages me at my level. The Rosary in a Year Prayer Guide is an innovative invitation to mediation in the most meaningful of ways - into a Holy relationship that will warm your heart. Our FATHER, Our CHRIST, Our HOLY SPIRIT and Our Mother will embrace and envelope you in a much needed Holy Hug and continued Hope for ourselves, and our duty to Humanity as the Church.

This book is such a great companion to the podcast! I am an artist and love to journal so it is great to have this physical book to sketch and journal in as I work through this.
I've been following the Rosary in a Year podcast all year and preordered this guide as soon as it was available. I think Ascension rushed this one a bit. The artwork was helpful, and the full text of the meditations were nice, but a great deal of the book is simply an expanded version of the Prayer Plan (i.e. "do this today...").
Now that we know what Fr. Mark-Mary says each day, perhaps a second edition of this guide could include simple reminders of his advice (i.e. "Trust the messenger, even if you don't understand the message"). Those are the kind of gems that could be integrated into our memory as we learn to appreciate the rosary.
The Rosary has been a part of my entire life. Mother Mary has too.
I found my self in my senior years now wishing to know more as I felt I was missing something.
This course has filled in the gaps & opened more doors to my prayer life & opened my eyes to
what I didn't see before. I plan on doing another year of Rosary in a Year to see what I missed
as I was absorbed in what I was learning. I know there is more. Blessings for Fr, Mark Mary for

This Rosary in a year prayer guide is a must have !
I think this prayer guide works better independently from the podcast or as a supplement to pray with before or after listening, since, as other reviewers have mentioned, the reflections published do not match Father’s commentary (which I would love to have transcribed in the book, as well). I’ve relied on the prayer guide more heavily during the Visio divina segments, and my only complaint is that the colors in the book are somewhat dull and dark, and so the details of some paintings are lost, and I have to look them up online to see them with more brightness and clarity. Phases 5 & 6 in the book don’t offer much content. All that said, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the podcast, and the content the book offers is helpful.
I’m so glad I took the opportunity to listen this beautiful work. I wondered how can one fill a whole year with the rosary, but Father Mark-Mark has created a beautiful journey for us, full of small treasures and awesome vistas into the teaching of our beauties prayer, the rosary. Thank you.
Life changing with the rosary
I am really enjoying this Rosary in a Year Prayer Guide. I find it very helpful to have it listed out what will be covered each day.
I also really like that the text that are going to be covered (be in Sacred Scripture or a reading from a Saint) are reproduced because I like to both hear AND read the passage.
The only thing that would make this better is if there was a space where I could record my thoughts and reflections. I know that Ascension also has a Notebook that goes along with Rosary in a Year--and I have that too--but it would have been amazing if they could have been combined.
Thank you Father Mark-Mary and Ascension for giving us a new approach of the Most Holy Rosary. It has improved my relationship with Jesus and Mary.
I just bought the Rosary prayer guide. I haven't started the Rosary in a Year plan yet but I will once I finish the Bible in a Year. However, I've been reading from the book and already know I will gain much insight and benefit from it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to pray the rosary with more intention and depth.
This book is such a wonderful companion to RIY podcast. It is very easy to navigate.
By the time I got around to ordering this book it was on back order - so I only received it a short time ago. Nevertheless, I think it's a great addition to Fr Mark-Mary's podcast - I enjoy both listening to him explain the readings and reading along with him. I have said the Rosary in the past; however, I now have a better understanding of the mysteries themselves. It has definitely re awakened my interest in saying the Rosary. Always a good thing!
I like the book, it is very informative. The art work will help me visualize the mysteries of the rosary. I'm glad I purchased it.

I love the book I use it every day when I do the Rosary in a year. It is helpful to follow along with the reading for the day and it tells how many prayers we are going to say that day.
Was a little disappointing. When Fr Mike Mary made references to Old Testament scripture which is wonderful, the scripture references are not in the book. Would be nice to have those references as an addendum to be added to my book
I listen to the guide on youtube and its easy to follow. I like this guide because it gives you a deeper understanding to meditate on the mysteries as your praying. The only thing to me that is missing in the book is Father Mark Mary's commentary in the book.
I bought the ebook version because I do not live in the US, and find it very useful. I guess when Fr. Mark-Mary gets to the visual meditations it will be even handier. I loved the companions for BIY and CIY, so these books have become a must for me when listening and re-listening to the podcasts. Thank you Ascension Press!
I ordered the Rosary in a Year Prayer Guide in December 2024 with an expected delivery date of sometime in January 2025.
I have checked the tracking and it reports back that is has not shipped out yet.
Why is it taking so long?
The book is bigger than any of the indIvidual Bible in a Year or Catechism in a Year Companions. It is full of sacred art from the podcast. All of the prayers in the rosary, several litanies, and scriptural connections to the rosary are included. A great book to improve your prayer life, or even begin it.
I find it difficult to follow the Podcast Video with the book or the Ascension Video vs YouTube because the video of Fr Mike Mary is different than the book. I tried to follow the videos on Ascension but am confused why Fr references different readings in the Video than the book, and in some cases different words for the prayers than the book. The scrolling words in the Ascension video are also harder to follow. So after 23 days I am now just following the YouTube Video.
The Rosary in a Year Prayer Guide is great. I like having this guide handy while I am listening to the podcast. I also like having the text for all of the
prayers of the Rosary.

Being quiet is not easy for me, yet over the past several days I find myself sitting and relistening to Fr. Mark Mary and the podcasts over and over throughout the day. I absolutely love this.
I have just started this series. It is wonderful! I am finding peace in the calm blessed words of Fr Mark-Mary, Ames.
I have always prayed the rosary but I wanted to learn about the rosary and make my prayers more relevant to speaking to Mary. I started doing the rosary in a year plan and I feel spiritually that I am communicating with my heavenly mother better and praying better. I want my heavenly mother to know how much I love her and this prayer plan is helping me get closer to her. thank you so much for having this plan. I especially like the way I am learning to visualize my presence with Mary and Jesus. The calmness and sitting with God, holy spirit, and the holy family really helps me to connect with them.
