Ascension's An Hour with Christ includes Fulton Sheen's original meditations, first published in The Holy Hour: Could You Not Watch One Hour with Me, to invite Catholics to deepen their prayer lives.
[Exton, PA - September 23, 2026] In honor of Fulton Sheen’s upcoming beatification, Ascension has released An Hour with Christ, a book full of Fulton Sheen’s wisdom on praying a deep and meaningful holy hour.
Originally published as The Holy Hour: Could You Not Watch One Hour with Me?, Fulton Sheen’s collection of meditations for Eucharistic adoration return in a new Ascension edition, with practical guidance and beautiful additions to help Catholics make the most of their time with the Blessed Sacrament.
Complete with a foreword by Fr. Mike Schmitz, An Hour with Christ also features a practical guide for using the book in prayer, a biographical introduction to Fulton Sheen’s life and legacy, and photographs from throughout his life and ministry.
“Personally, I owe a lot to Blessed Fulton Sheen,” says Fr. Mike. As I listened to his talks, I found his invitation to pray a daily Holy Hour so powerful because it is not just about a single moment. It is about doing this good thing over and over again—and staying close to Jesus.
An Hour with Christ is the perfect companion for other Ascension titles including Pocket Guide to Adoration.
