A new Parent’s Guide and Sticker Chart support “The Bible in a Year: Family Edition” podcast, launching January 1, 2027, and invite families to discover the story of salvation together.
[EXTON, Pa., October 27, 2026] Ascension has announced two new companion products for its upcoming podcast “The Bible in a Year®: Family Edition (with Fr. Josh Johnson).” These two resources are “The Bible in a Year: Family Edition Parent’s Guide” and “The Bible in a Year: Family Edition Sticker Chart.” Designed to help parents and children encounter Scripture together, this guide and sticker chart offer easy and fun ways to turn Bible reading into a daily habit.
Launching January 1, 2027, “The Bible in a Year: Family Edition (with Fr. Josh Johnson)” is a 365-episode video and audio podcast designed for children ages 7–12 and their families. Much like the original “Bible in a Year® (with Fr. Mike Schmitz),” each episode of the family edition includes a Scripture reading, age-appropriate reflection from host and Catholic priest Fr. Josh Johnson, answers to common Bible questions from children, and prayer, giving families a simple daily rhythm for encountering God’s Word.
Written for parents and caregivers, the Parent’s Guide helps adults confidently guide children through Scripture, even if they are unsure where to begin. Each day includes an explanation of the Bible reading, answers to a question children may ask, and a creative idea for an activity for the family. Parents, grandparents, godparents, and teachers can also use the guide to turn each podcast episode into conversations around the dinner table or on the go.
The Sticker Chart makes the yearlong Bible journey tangible for children. Kids can mark each daily reading with a yellow star and celebrate the 12 Messianic Checkpoints with gold stars. These checkpoints highlight moments in Scripture when God promises a Savior, helping children recognize how the entire story of salvation points to Jesus.
When families have completed the final episode, they can take out the perforated pages and assemble them into a wall-sized poster of the entire “Bible Timeline®,” a keepsake to remember a year spent in Scripture together.
