Your God Is Too Small

Your God Is Too Small

Jeff Cavins

Is God big or small in your life? What does it mean for God to be big in your life? Jeff Cavins addresses the fact that so many of us are facing significant challenges and sufferings in our lives. He asks us to ponder whether we make God big in our lives or if we set him aside and make him small. He encourages that if we make God big in our lives, he can help us face our problems and be a reflection of him to others.

Snippet from the Show
If you don’t spend time with Jesus, God will become too small for any problem that you are facing.

Pirkei Avot

“For one whose learning exceeds one’s deeds, that learning will not endure; but for the one whose deeds exceed one’s learning, one’s learning does endure.”

Quotation from C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

“Aslan, Aslan. Dear Aslan,” sobbed Lucy. “At last.”
The great beast rolled over on his side so that Lucy fell, half sitting and half lying between his front paws. He bent forward and just touched her nose with his tongue. His warm breath came all round her. She gazed up into the large wise face.
“Welcome, child,” he said.
“Aslan,” said Lucy, “you’re bigger.”
“That is because you are older, little one,” answered he.
“Not because you are?”
“I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”

Colossians 2:3

"In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

Psalm 34:3-6

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

Isaiah 55:8-9

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Isaiah 40:28

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is unsearchable.

Job 26:14

“Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways; and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”

Quotation from A.W. Tozer

"Because God knows all things perfectly, he knows no thing better than any other thing, but all things equally well. He never discovers anything, he is never surprised, never amazed."

Psalm 8:3-4

When I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars which thou hast established; what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou dost care for him?
