The Danger of Comparison
Sisters of LifeThe Sisters of Life dive into the all-too-relatable experience of comparison and its power to distort our identity, steal our peace, and pull us away from God's truth. Sr. Mary Grace, Sr. Ann Immaculée, and Sr. Marie Veritas explore how comparison doesn’t just affect how we feel—it rewrites the stories we tell ourselves about who we are. The sisters encourage us to embrace our God-given uniqueness, to see others through the eyes of wonder instead of envy, and to keep our gaze fixed on Jesus.
Snippet from the Show
" When we live in another person's reality, which is what happens when we compare to each other, we lack the clarity to see things as they are."

Quotes
“Peter turned and saw following them the disciple whom Jesus loved… When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, ‘Lord, what about this man?’ Jesus said, ‘If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me.’” John 21:20–22
“God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1:31
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29
“I don’t want any cookie-cutter sister.” Fr. John Cardinal O’Connor (Founder of the Sisters of Life)
“What is it to you about him? You follow me.” John 21:22

Practical Takeaways
- Make a simple prayer of faith to Jesus. "Jesus, draw me into your heart and what you experience with the Father. Draw me into all of his love, attentiveness, and care. Draw me into that. I want that, need that, and am made for that." Ask the Trinity to dwell within you.
- Ponder the variety in nature. Ponder the gift of nature. Think of the animals, flowers, and smells. Think about and rejoice in the differences. Ponder how this is true for you and me, and all the people you interact with. Variety is a gift.
- Pray with John 21
- If you experience temptation to comparison, take that opportunity to thank God for his love and how constant it is. Say, "Thank you, Father." Take that opportunity as well by affirming that person's good in some way. Recognize the beauty and goodness of the other.

Thank you for being led in the joy of the Holy Spirit. I love the picture of all of us being different flowers. And the zoo! Comparison steals, our joy! God bless each of you! And thank you for your prayers for the healing in my family.
How does one reconcile the notion of looking towards the Saints as example? For instance Saint Therese of Lisieux’s comparison of herself to Saint Teresa of Avala.
