Lent Series EP 1: The Power of Your Thoughts
Ascension TeamYour thoughts are not background noise — they are an integral part of how God created you. As Lent begins, Sr. Mary Grace, Sr. Magnificat Rose, and Sr. Cora Caeli explore how our mind shapes our actions, relationships, and peace. When we let Christ renew our minds, everything begins to change.

Main Themes
You Have a Rational Soul — and That Matters
As human beings made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), we have the unique capacity to think, ponder, discern, and choose. Your interior world is sacred ground.
Silence Is Not Empty — It’s Essential
In a culture filled with constant noise and distraction, we must fight for time to think. Silence creates space for reflection, gratitude, and hearing God’s voice.
You Are Not a Victim of Your Thoughts
While thoughts arise spontaneously, we are not powerless.
By grace, we can choose:Which thoughts to dwell on
- Which thoughts to reject
- Which thoughts to surrender
- We can “put on the mind of Christ” (Philippians 2:5).
Ask: “Is It Kind?”Inspired by Dr. Edith Eger’s witness, a powerful discernment question emerges: Is this thought kind?
If yes — receive it. If not — let it pass
You Are Not Alone in Your Mind
Prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue. We do not navigate our interior world alone. Jesus walks with us there. Community, spiritual friendship, and vulnerability can transform our thinking and bring clarity and peace.

Challenges of the Week:
- Give yourself permission to wonder in gratitude for what you encounter in the day.
- Return to the Lord with your whole heart so he can fill you with peace and Ask Our Lady, Queen of Peace, to guard your mind.
- Make an intentional act of surrender at night to quiet your mind (“Into Your hands, Lord…” — Luke 23:46).
- Allow your mind to think of other people (a text, note, or prayer for another).
