Feel Like You're In Prison? Listen to St. Paul

Struggling with anxiety, frustration, and depression during these covid lockdowns? Maybe all we need to do is change our perspective. Today, Jeff pulls some inspiration from St. Paul’s letters to the Philippians, Ephesians, and Colossians, to help us center our hearts in the Lord during these confusing times.

“It is God who works in you, both to will and to work, for his pleasure.”

What did Paul think about in prison?

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,” - Philippians 2:5

“for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” - Philippians 2:13

“Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,” - Philippians 3:13

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things…” - Philippians 4:4-9

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” - Colossians 3:1-2
