Meet the Host

Fr. Mark-Mary Ames is the Director of Communications and the Director of Priestly Studies of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFR). The primary mission of the CFR community is a wholehearted embracing of Jesus Christ and their Holy Father, St. Francis of Assisi. Through their commitment to prayer and contemplation, the study of Sacred Scripture, fidelity to the Church and the sacraments, their fraternal life, and their generous service to others especially the poor, the CFRs receive the nourishment necessary to live out their lives as sons of St. Francis in the Capuchin tradition.

He is the host of the Ascension Presents video series The CFRs. He was also the executive producer of the Poco a Poco music album featuring Br. Isaiah, CFR, and is the author of both Habits for Holiness: Small Steps for Making Big Spiritual Progress and The Father: 30 Meditations to Draw You Into the Heart of God.

The Rosary in a Year podcast is designed to take Catholics on a journey to deeper prayer and greater love for the Rosary, no matter where you are in your spiritual life.

The goal of the Rosary is not simply for you to be saying 50 Hail Marys. The hope is that you are able to fall in love with the Rosary because you experience in it the motherhood of Mary and you experience in it a deeper encounter in entering into relationship with Jesus. The Rosary in a Year podcast will help you do just that.

Is Fr. Mike involved?

While Fr. Mike is not the host of Rosary in a Year, he will appear on bonus episodes with Fr. Mark-Mary.

How does this podcast work?

The Rosary in a Year podcast will guide listeners through six phases, doing a “slow build” to form a lasting habit of prayer and gain the tools to enter more deeply into fruitful meditation on the lives of Jesus and Mary through the Rosary. We will be equipped to pray the Rosary with fervor, putting Christ first in our lives as we still ourselves to drink
deeply of the truth of God’s life and love.
