The Renewed: Your Journey to First Reconciliation Parent's Guide offers a simple way for parents to be involved in their child's formation and accompany their child throughout First Reconciliation preparation. Each lesson in the child’s workbook has a corresponding section in the Parent’s Guide.

They will be presented as follows: 

• Bird’s-Eye View – An explanation of the material the child will learn in the lesson. 
• Make It Personal – Two opportunities for the parent to reflect on the major themes of the child’s lesson and explore how those themes apply to their own life. These sections include an invitation to "Take a Moment and Reflect" on some deeper questions related to the theme and to "Jot It Down" as they explore their thoughts in writing. 
• Pray – A chance to offer the thoughts from their reflection and journal to God in prayer. 
• Take-Home Activities – A review of the car conversation and family time prompts that their child is expected to complete each week, with tips, tricks, and ideas. 
• Tough Questions – A look at some tough questions that their child may have after the lesson. This section includes optional additional resources that will help parents answer questions. It provides them with a guide to approaching challenging conversations as well as a possible response to each question. 
• Additional Resources – This includes Bible verses, Catechism references, videos, podcasts, and articles to help parents dive deeper into the concepts covered in the lesson.
