If you’re trying to cultivate a virtue, you have to be in an environment that is supportive.
Like Fr. Mark-Mary says, a bar is a terrible place for a recovering alcoholic to hang out. Change your environment to avoid sin and to remind yourself of what’s most important.
You can also bring another person into your situation. Bringing a struggle into the light of community will help you build accountability and give you encouragement.
Be humble enough to admit weakness and be prudent enough to walk with others so that we’re not hiding our sins in the darkness.
