As questions about the afterlife continue to appear in national conversations, Ascension is offering Catholics a clear, hope-filled resource to understand what the Church teaches about our final destiny.
[Exton, PA - November 24, 2025] Ascension’s newest study, Life Everlasting: Heaven, Hell, Death, and Judgment, invites Catholics into a faithful and accessible exploration of the Last Things—drawing from Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Catholic tradition.
This new mini study—presented and written by Catholic scholars Dr. Edward Sri and Dr. Jeffrey Morrow—provides college students, working parents, small groups participants, and parish communities with a simple and engaging way to gain clarity and confidence about topics that have been receiving growing attention in recent months, including heaven, hell, judgment, and the meaning of death.
“These last things aren’t just about what happens later, at the end of the world, or at the end of our own lives,” said Dr. Sri. “It’s about how we can live now, to prepare ourselves for life everlasting.”
In a cultural moment when 70 percent of Americans say they believe in “something after this life,” according to a recent Pew Research Center study (May 2025), yet express uncertainty about what that means, Life Everlasting offers a solid grounding in what the Church actually proclaims.
Life Everlasting is among the first offerings in Ascension’s new “mini-study” format, created for those seeking meaningful faith formation while balancing busy schedules. Each mini-study requires little to no homework, and rely on short readings from the study book as well as one 30 minute video a week to fuel discussion or personal reflection. All videos are also available with a free trial or subscription to the Ascension app.
Life Everlasting includes:
- A concise, video-based mini-study format ideal for personal learning or parish use
- Clear teaching on death, judgment, heaven, hell, and purgatory drawn directly from the Catechism
- Scripture passages that illuminate the hope and reality of eternal life
- Engaging reflection questions and practical applications for everyday discipleship
- A companion study book designed for both new learners and lifelong Catholics
- Flexible session lengths and leader resources for easy implementation
Whether participants are encountering these teachings for the first time or deepening an existing understanding, Life Everlasting provides a trustworthy and pastoral guide to one of the most important truths of the Christian faith: that God created us for eternal life with him.
