Designed as true Bibles—not just storybooks—this new line of Bibles brings the full narrative of salvation into an age-adapted format grounded in The Great Adventure Catholic Bible.
[Exton, PA - June 3, 2026] From the publishers of the bestselling Great Adventure Catholic Bible, Ascension is launching a new line of multi-level children’s Bibles that bring the full story of salvation to young readers through a faithful, age-appropriate presentation of Scripture, helping children develop a lasting love for God’s Word.

This release comes at a time of growing emphasis on children’s faith formation resources. The rollout begins with The Great Adventure Catholic Bible for Young Beginners, written at a K-2 reading level and available for preorder now. Each Bible includes age-appropriate text from all 73 books of the Bible, select passages quoted directly from the RSV-2CE text of Scripture, beautiful sacred art, and Jeff Cavins’ color-coded Bible Timeline® Learning System. Together, these help children follow the unified story of salvation from the beginning without oversimplification or complexity.
“We created this Bible not to be a children’s Bible, but to be a Bible for children,” says Ascension President and CEO Jonathan Strate. “Its key distinguisher is that it is the actual text of the Bible, adapted for a younger reading level rather than a typical children’s book.”
This marks the first in a three-level series, with additional editions for older children scheduled for release starting later this year, expanding the same Bible-based framework into progressively advanced reading stages.
The Great Adventure Catholic Bible for Young Beginners features more than 175 pieces of sacred artwork and full-color maps, helping foster an appreciation for the beauty and tradition of Catholic art. Each edition packaged in a beautiful keepsake box includes a complimentary Bible Timeline Chart for Children, adapted from the adult version to help young readers visualize every period of salvation history.

The Great Adventure Catholic Bible for Young Beginners is also offered in a classroom edition for schools and parishes through Ascension’s Pillars of Faith Catholic Curriculum. The classroom edition excludes the ribbon marker, keepsake box, and complimentary Bible Timeline Chart for Children included in the standard edition.
