Make Space for Celebration

Make Space for Celebration

Ascension Team

You are worth celebrating and God rejoices over you. Sr. Mary Grace, Sr. Ann Immaculée, and Sr. Marie Veritas reflect on the goodness of celebration and explain how leisure and celebration are intricately connected.  Learn about practical ways to incorporate celebration into your life, the joy of affirming each other's existence, and how every act of celebration deepens our relationship with God and others.

Snippet from the Show

Each act of celebration offers a glimpse of the great celebration of the Wedding Feast of the Lamb in heaven that awaits us.

Shownotes

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20)

"There is no better way to know God than to let him reconcile you to himself." (Pope Francis)

"Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. "(Luke 15:7)

"And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain apart. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Eli′jah, talking with him. And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is well that we are here; if you wish, I will make three booths here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Eli′jah.” He was still speaking, when lo, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces, and were filled with awe. "(Matthew 17:1-6)

Challenges of the Week

  • Find creative ways to celebrate others by creating a festival atmosphere. Here are some celebration tips:
    • Set a table with a nice tablecloth, nicely folded napkins, and special place settings.
    • Buy some flowers and make some signs that express truths about the person.
  • Be aware of the next time someone in your life has an achievement, and celebrate them.
  • If you have a tough time letting others celebrate you, ask for the grace to be open to receiving the gift of celebration.
