5 Things to Do When You Feel Helpless
1. Read Scripture
If you are wondering about God’s will for your life, you should spend some time reading God’s word! Jesus reminds us, time and again, not to worry and to trust in him. Especially Luke 12:27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet, I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.”
2. Pray the Surrender Novena
I love the Surrender Novena! We talked all about it in this podcast, but I encourage everyone to make this simple prayer part of your daily life: Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything!”
3. Do the next right thing.
You may not be able to take action and solve all of your problems, but God is calling on you to do something right now. What is your duty of the present moment?
4. Take action based on trust.
I share a passage from Searching For and Maintaining Peace by Fr. Jacques Philippe, about taking a leap of faith as a way of growing in trust.
5. Rejoice!
What a gift it is to know that we are weak. Read 2 Corinthians 12 and reflect on ways you can give glory to God through your state of helplessness.
