3 Ways God Wants to Heal You This Lent

In the Stations of the Cross, Jesus falls three times. Have you ever wondered why three? Dr. Sri reveals how these falls symbolize the three main areas where we need God's healing during Lent: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. Dr. Sri also explains how the Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving can serve as antidotes to these core battles.

1 John 2:16

 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.

Pride

• Do you say sorry enough?
• Do you listen to the people around you?
• Do you admit you are wrong?

 Prayer is the antidote for pride. 

Lust of the Eyes

•  Commonly associated with the vice of avarice or greed
• Attachments to pleasures and comforts of this world
• Do you consume too many things?
• Can you give a little extra to others?
• Where do you spend your money?

Almsgiving is the antidote for greed or lust of the eyes

Lust of the Flesh

Matthew 18:9

And if your eye causes you to sin,^[a] pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell^[b] of fire.

• Consider cutting down on screentime
