An answer to the significance of the name Pope Leo

When Steve Weidenkopf recorded his lectures, and wrote the accompanying workbook and timeline with Dr. Alan Schreck in 2009, they could not have foreseen how helpful their history lessons would be to Catholics in 2025. Looking to understand the significance of Leo as our new Pope’s name, answers unfold as St Leo I arrives in the period of “Conversion and Councils” , and culminating in Leo XIII papacy during the period of “Revolutions and Modernism”. Our current Leo IV arrives following Pope Francis in the period Weidenkopf describes as “The Threshold of Hope”.
The workbook and timeline give a visual summary of the online lessons available through the Assumption website/App. This series of 20 sessions clearly shows how God’s plan for the Church has unfolded within the context of world cultural and historical influences.
Rich in Catholic History, this series explains Church councils, heresies that arose, schisms that afflicted the Church, the Apostolic succession of Popes and the times in which they served the Church, and so much more.

Time travel through the Church

This study starts with the early church and you will hear stories of heroes and saints in each time period.

I purchased the online version first, but switch to the physical copy because I wanted to refer to the timeline chart while I am reading the workbook.

God bless all your work for His glory.
