Shownotes
1. A Life-Changing Perspective
- In a noisy world full of competing viewpoints, the most important question is how we see our relationship with Jesus.
- The key shift: moving from “following Jesus” at a distance to living in union with Him as He dwells within us.
- This perspective reshapes every aspect of the Christian life.
2. From Following Jesus to Christ Living in You
- In the Gospels, Jesus says to his disciples to “follow me,” but after the Resurrection, the emphasis shifts.
- The New Testament reveals a deeper reality: Christ in you (Colossians 1:27, Galatians 2:20).
- Discipleship is no longer just imitation—it is participation in Christ’s own life and mission.
3. The Role of the Holy Spirit
- Through Baptism and Confirmation, we receive the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us (1 Corinthians 3:16).
- The Spirit teaches, guides, and empowers us to continue the work of Jesus.
- We are not acting alone—God is working in us and through us.
4. True Discipleship: From Fan to Participant
- A “fan” observes, studies, and admires Jesus from a distance.
- A true disciple allows Christ to transform their life and actively participates in His mission.
- Scripture calls us to “walk as He walked” (1 John 2:6), not just learn about Him.
5. The Eucharist: Source of Intimate Union
- The Eucharist is the deepest expression of Christ dwelling in us.
- In receiving His Body and Blood, we enter into real communion with Him.
- This sacramental union strengthens us to live as His presence in the world.
6. Formation and the Deposit of Faith
- Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition form the foundation of our faith.
- Study, teaching, and formation are essential—but they are not the end goal.
- They prepare us to live out the reality of Christ within us.
7. Identity and Mission in Christ
- Through Baptism, we “put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27) and receive a new identity.
- Our lives are no longer our own—we belong to Him and share in His mission.
- We are called to be His Body in the world, bringing His love and truth to others.
8. A Call to Radical Reorientation
- The Christian life requires intentional surrender and focus on Jesus.
- Let go of distractions and anything that pulls you away from your calling.
- Embrace your mission with boldness, knowing Christ lives in you.
