Before purchasing the course:

• Meet with the priest or deacon who will be officiating your wedding and obtain permission for this course to fulfill the requirements requested by the parish or diocese.
• Confirm your wedding date with the church.

Course requirements and expectations:

• Upon purchasing the course (one per couple, not per person), you will receive a confirmation email from "noreply@notify.thinkific.com".
• Add the addresses "noreply@notify.thinkific.com" and "jfmlive@ascensionpress.com" to your email contacts to receive all course-related messages. Please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders if you don't find our emails in your inbox.
• Use the express link in the confirmation email to access session videos and digital materials, including Skills for a Couple's Life, God's Plan for Love, and the Couple's Journal. You can purchase the physical books by clicking here and adding the couple's package to your cart.
• Set aside time to complete the 8-10 hours of the self-study portion of the program together, at least 60 days before your wedding date.
• After completing the self-study portion, you will have access to register for a Live Guided Dialogue (already included and 2 and a half hours long) via Zoom with 12 couples and a facilitator or facilitating couple.
• Once in the course, you can also view the available dates for the Live Guided Dialogue on the course's introductory pages. The dialogue generally takes place on weekdays from 7:00 to 9:30 pm EST and/or on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm EST.
• After completing the self-study portion, register and attend one of the Live Guided Dialogues at least 45 days before your wedding date.
• Upon completion, a certificate will be sent to the email registered during the Live Guided Dialogue registration process (check if you used a different email than the one you used to purchase the course). You will receive the certificate two hours after the scheduled end time of the Live Guided Dialogue.

About the course:

The Joy-Filled Marriage course with a Live Guided Dialogue offers a comprehensive approach that covers not only the sacramental aspects and theology of marriage, but also the practical skills necessary to live out marriage in accordance with the rich Catholic vision of it.

Engaged couples certified through this course must:

• Watch all session videos.
• Demonstrate their understanding of the material through the assessments contained in each of the twelve (12) segments of the course.
• Complete all activities and participate in thought-provoking discussions.
• Attend a live guided virtual dialogue (2 and a half hours) led by a Catholic married couple trained by Ascension and experts in the Joy-Filled Marriage program. A webcam is required to participate.
• After attending the Live Guided Dialogue, the couple will receive a certificate with a unique serial number to present to their parish.
