Are you truly making the most of the time God has given you? Jeff shares three simple ways to “tweak” your life: steward your time, invest in people rather than things, and seek wisdom instead of trivia, so that your daily choices can lead you closer to Christ.
Shownotes
1. Treat time as a treasure.
Time is a gift from God, and we are not guaranteed how much of it we have. Rather than “killing time,” redeem the time by seeking God’s will and putting first things first. Guard your time, limit distractions, begin the day with God rather than a phone or computer, and examine how they spent their time at the end of each day.
2. Invest in people, not things.
The things we accumulate are temporary, but the people God has placed in our lives are eternal. Invest deeply in God, our families, our friendships, and the people we encounter who need to hear the Gospel. When we recognize the eternal value of each person, our priorities begin to change.
3. Seek wisdom, not trivia.
Our culture gives us endless opportunities to consume information, but information alone does not make us wise. Pursue wisdom by going deeper into Scripture, the teachings of the Church, the lives of the saints, prayer, and the wisdom of those who have gone before us. True wisdom comes when we submit what we learn to God's will and put it into practice.
Jeff ultimately offers a simple progression: information → wisdom → understanding. Information becomes wisdom when we learn how to apply truth according to God's will, and we gain understanding when we actually live that truth.
This week, consider where your time is going, who you are investing in, and whether you are pursuing wisdom or simply consuming information. As Jeff reminds us, we are stewards of all that God has given us.
