Steve Weidenkopf

Steve Weidenkopf has an amazing command of Church history. This history is nothing less than the story of Western Civilization and that of our extended Catholic family. Steve’s ability to retell the key events and biographies is always entertaining and edifying. Who knew history could be so exciting!

Steve is the creator of Epic: A Journey through Church History. He is also a Lecturer of Church History at the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College in Alexandria, Virginia and the author of study guides on Pope Paul VI’s encyclical, Humanae Vitae and Lumen Gentium.

Steve is a frequent guest on Catholic radio where his brimming energy and knowledge allow him to fields calls spanning questions from the persecution of Nero to fascinating details of John Paul II’s pontificate. His live presentations are ideal for parishes, men’s groups, or events where a robust and accurate explanation of Church history is needed.

He served as the Director of the Office of Marriage & Family Life for the Archdiocese of Denver and as an advisor to Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. Steve holds an MA in theological studies from the Graduate School at Christendom College and a BA in International Relations from Syracuse University.
