fantastic, even for adults

We love this book. We've owned it for a couple of years, and both of our kids enjoy being able to follow Mass in a step-by-step fashion. Our son, who is 5, is beginning to outgrow the board book format and flipping open flaps, but the content is still relevant to him. I follow along right with him - how many of us adults could use a simple, straightforward explanation for some of the prayers during the Eucharistic liturgy? It's great for the whole family, and sometimes we even end up giving it away to other families. Totally worth it!

Mass guide for my granddaughter

I got this for my granddaughter so she would not be so restless in Mass.
I think that it is wonderful as did my son. I just gave it to him last week, so I don’t yet know how she liked it. I know that it will be a good start to her Catholic journey.

6 year old Grandson loves this book!

My grandson (6) loves this book - he can follow along easier, and he really loves the pages where they show images with the word, he tries to find the items (chalice, bells) when we go to church, and he loves visiting other parishes so he can find the items in their church. It made him start paying attention more for sure!

I gave it as a gift

My friend at church has a grandson who is getting ready for his first holy communion, but is stlll very restless during Mass and she is very worried about him. So, I have not opened the book and cannot give a first hand review. But my friend has looked through it and is excited to show it to her grandson. I have not heard about his experience yet. I will try to edit this when I hear from my friend.

GREAT book (but SUPERVISE spinner page use by preschoolers or it may end up inoperable!)

I purchased multiple copies of this wonderful book for our church children's library. It's definitely my "Go-To" Mass recommendation for families with young children! I really appreciate it when a book teaches the child and the parent simultaneously. The pages are sturdy, but be warned that the "turn the wheel" page won't last if your books gets LOTS of use like ours do . Ascension needs to improve & reinforce (create a STURDIER version of) the "spinning wheel"/"turn the wheel" page which shows the Order of the Mass on one side and the colors of the Liturgical Year on the reverse (pages 3-4). Maybe they could mount the "wheel" with an interior metal brad clip in the future? This book is recommended for ages 3+, but Ascension probably needs to add a warning note that *parental supervision is a must* for younger children who have a hard time working the spinning wheel. Without gentle handling, kids end up ripping the finger-edge outer part of the circle and/or making the circle itself come loose and go off track from its original interior mounting. We had some trouble with the "flaps" being lifted to roughly and thus being torn, too, so I'm having to add tape on every lift the flap in an effort to help the books last as long as possible. These books are so precious to me, so finding 4 of them damaged this month was like a blow to the heart in addition to the budget!
