Testimonials from Past Virtual Retreats

I just wanted to follow up on the fantastic retreat that Fr. Mike put together a couple of weeks back. I have a full house with five kids, but still found spaces of time throughout the weekend to watch Fr. Mike’s reflections and then pray and further consider. Really awesome. Great “re-set” prior to Holy Week. Thank you!!

I want to thank you, Ascension and Fr. Mike Schmitz, for the wonderful retreat this weekend. I don't really know what my expectations were going into it. I just knew that I needed the silence and time with the Lord in a deep and profound way. He met me and brought me to a new place. I am relishing his love for me in a deeper way.

—M.C.

What a wonderful and motivating AND enlightening retreat. This retreat was not my first rodeo, however it was extremely meaningful to me! We are so grateful and thankful! P.S. As a former high school educator for forty years, now retired, I will grade this retreat an A+!

—J.D.

Incredible. Peaceful. Powerful! There was something amazing about how Fr. Mike looked right through the screen to my heart. It made his words intensely personal. I have never been more focused while watching an online talk. I carried his words and our meditations with me through the unavoidable distractions of the weekend. I will honestly remember this retreat for the rest of my life. My sincere thanks to everyone.

Thank you so much for offering this retreat. I cannot express how much I needed a weekend to spend time with the Lord, so thank you! It’s already been a tremendous blessing! I have always appreciated the amazing work your team does at Ascension and this is just further proof at how well you minister to us. Thank you!

—A.E.

Thank you so much for offering this online. Fr. Mike taught me new ways of thinking about what I read in the Bible and how to ponder the moment by engaging all the senses. I liked that. I am going to keep using these new tools when I read Scripture. It was also really awesome to see so many people from other countries, too. Amazing how a stay-at-home/social distance rule has brought so many of us closer together. Thanks again for putting this on.

—A.M.

This retreat was exactly what we needed. God worked wonders in our lives this past weekend. It helped me change from a mindset of loneliness and loss to one of purpose and renewal. In addition, it gave my friends an opportunity to reach out to one another and offer each other up in prayer and I could not be more thankful for all of you guys. While God is responsible for all of the sanctifying work done last weekend, I know that it would not have been the same without the aid of the retreat. Thank you, Fr. Mike, for the prayerful guidance during every session. Thank you, Ascension, for working to make this accessible on a global scale. Thank you all for helping me come back to Christ. A renewed spirit is so invaluable; I will never be able to put into words how much this past weekend meant to me. I am sure that I am not alone in saying that you have helped bring faith and hope into the lives of so many souls during this time of isolation and confusion. Please know that you and your ministries are in my prayers.
