How Registration Works

  1. Once a ticket is purchased, a confirmation email will be sent to the email(s) specified by the purchaser at checkout.

  2. Leading up to the Retreat, the Ascension team will keep in touch with ticketed attendees, providing all information needed to access the retreat and have an incredible retreat experience.

  3. The day before the Retreat begins, each attendee will receive their own “magic link” via email, providing full access to the retreat platform.

  4. After the retreat ends, the Ascension team will send ticketed registrants a follow-up email with a link to the retreat replay videos. These videos will only be available to ticket holders!

What is the cost of the retreat?

A standard price ticket for The Bible in a Year Retreat is $78.95, BUT if you purchase early, you'll receive an early bird discount!

Can I buy more than one ticket? Can I give someone else a ticket?

Yes! Multiple tickets can be added to your cart. At checkout, each ticket will require a unique, valid email address. All ticketed attendees will receive a confirmation email with their ticket details upon completion of purchase.  

Can I return my ticket or transfer it to someone else?

Tickets can be cancelled and refunded or transferred to another person (no refund issued) until February 5 at 11:59 PM EST. After that time, all ticket sales and ticket assignments are final.

Can I watch the recordings after the retreat?

Only registered participants will have access to recordings of the main stage talks after the event. For those who have purchased tickets to the event, we will send out an email shortly after the retreat with a link and instructions on how to view the recordings.

Can people outside the United States participate in this retreat?

Yes! However, the retreat will take place in Eastern Standard Time.

How do I access the retreat?

The day before the Retreat begins, each attendee will receive their own “magic link” via email, providing full access to Hopin, the retreat platform. Attendees will need a laptop/desktop (recommended) or mobile device with internet access to access the "magic link" and join the Retreat.

What happens if I experience technical difficulties during the retreat?

For tech needs during the event, Relatu, our top-notch third-party vendor, will provide personalized assistance. Inside of the Hopin event platform, you will find a virtual help desk with live customer support to assist you during the event.

Where does the retreat take place?

The 2023 Bible in a Year Retreat will be held on an online event platform to provide a peaceful retreat experience, eliminate unnecessary distractions, and facilitate meaningful connections between attendees.

How is the 2023 retreat different from last year's retreat?

Meet the Presenters

Jeff Cavins has been a leading figure in Catholic media for over three decades. He was the host of EWTN’s Life on the Rock for six years, has appeared widely on Catholic radio, television, and digital media, and is the author of The Bible TimelineⓇ: The Story of Salvation, a practical, interactive program that helps people read the “big picture” of God’s plan of salvation in Sacred Scripture and understand its meaning for their lives.

In addition to his role in The Bible in a Year podcast, his current projects include The Jeff Cavins Show podcast, Encountering the Word Sunday Scripture Reflections, and daily Scripture reflections on the Hallow app.

Fr. Mike Schmitz, host of The Bible in a Year and The Catechism in a Year podcasts, serves as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Duluth and as Chaplain for the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He is well known for his popular YouTube videos, released weekly on the Ascension Presents YouTube channel, and he also streams Sunday Mass to a worldwide audience.

Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio (“Dr. Italy”) received his Ph.D. in historical theology from The Catholic University of America under the direction of Avery Cardinal Dulles and has had a prolific career as a Catholic author, internationally-respected speaker, pilgrimage leader, and university professor.

He is the Co-founder and Director of The Crossroads Initiative, the author of five books and hundreds of articles, and a regular guest on both secular and Catholic TV and radio programs. Dr. D’Ambrosio has also published Bible studies including, Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life, and What We Believe: The Beauty of the Catholic Faith.

Dr. D’Ambrosio is currently a Professor of Theology at the Catholic Distance University. He and his wife Susan reside in Dallas, Texas.
